In 1997 and 1998 we attended Thunder Indoor Karting races held in Helsinki Hartwall Areena. The event was similar to the annual Elf Masters karting event held in Paris Bercy. In both years there was supposed to be many drivers from F1 and other top motor sport series. However, the 1997 event was quite a disappointment as there were just two drivers from F1, Mika Salo and Jan Magnussen, and a few other international drivers.

The 1998 event was a lot better event than in 1997. This time all drivers promised to be there arrived, including Jacques Villeneuve, Johnny Herbert, Mika Salo and Jarno Trulli from F1 and CART drivers Jimmy Vasser, Greg Moore and Dario Franchitti.

The seats we had in 1998 were great and we were looking forward to taking some good photos, but one of the jerk marshalls didn't let us use our cameras because they were too good - you were only allowed to use some crap automatic cameras! That pretty much spoiled the event for us. We took some pictures anyway before she threatened to kick us out. So we decided to move to another side of the track, but unfortunately we didn't find any good seats there, so the photos turned out pretty poor.

Due to the fact that there was not very good light during the event we did not get good photos even though we were using 800 speed films. That's why we only put a few of them online.
