I have been following different kinds of motor racing for quite a long time and although my
interest may have slightly vaned in the recent years (partly due to lack of TV coverage in
places I've been living), I still watch about everything I can and I keep on reading my weekly
copy of Autosport. However I'm not really into cars and I confess not having a clue about the
technical side of motoring.
For me motor racing is a fascinating subject of photography. To capture to speed and
excitement of a particular moment in a frame of slide film is something special. For me
that's the point in all photos I take; I like the idea of freezing a moment of action,
scene of city life or sunset on film, a moment which will never be repeated in a
identical way. One photo often tells a story in a way no words can describe. However,
I think the challenge of shooting fast moving subjects like an F1 car travelling at more
than 300 km/h is something unique and requires a lot of practise. Many amateur
photographers never realise the task that we face on the circuits.
I think I would very much enjoy working as a full-time photographer or journalist (racing
or something else) because I like everything that goes with it: travelling, writing,
meeting people, speaking foreign languages... |
